The Berger-Levrault City’Zen Challenge, created in 2015, is an international inter-school competition that aims to sponsor and reward young talent in the execution of innovative solutions. These solutions are designed to improve the relationship between citizens and administrations, to imagine the city of tomorrow and thus to respond to the major societal issues of the 21st century.

This competition is at the heart of Berger-Levrault’s international strategy, which strives to encourage and invest in the next generation of leaders, who will transform urban life through innovation and technological change.

This year, the 5th edition is dedicated to the COVID-19 crisis: Beyond Covid, Rebooting Society! This topic seemed obvious in the face of all the problems and emergencies administrations have encountered in recent months. Each project presented should be connected to the health, economic and social crisis that we have been going through for almost a year.

The COVID-19 crisis has undoubtedly generated one of the greatest upheavals in the modern history of human society. And while the economic consequences of this crisis are only beginning to make themselves felt, a disaster is looming on the horizon that threatens the very survival of human civilization: the climate crisis.

Taken together, these converging and threatening forces clearly demonstrate that our societies need a fundamental rethink… a radical restart – that must be invented, now.

So, let’s show solidarity and remain united in the face of the COVID-19 crisis and move beyond it to propose innovative projects.

The call for projects from our partner schools will take place from October 19, 2020 to January 5, 2021.
